Special certificates are required in order to work on air brakes or to be qualified to replace Freon in air conditioning systems.
In addition, all employees must have the necessary tools.
If a mechanic has CDL licensing, then a Department of Transportation physical examination is required.
Vision must be 20/40, either naturally or with corrective lenses.
Employee must not be color:
blind as he must be able to differentiate colors when working on colored electrical wires.
Must have both upper and lower appendages.
Hearing must be excellent or corrected by audio device.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Repair and maintenance of various types of heavy equipment and motor vehicles.
Must have several years of maintaining heavy industrial equipment such as Track/Rubber tire Back Hoes, Front:
end loaders, 18/10 wheel tractor/trailer trucks, and Motor Graders.
We maintain equipment pertaining to the asphalt paving industry such as pavers, shuttle buggies and rollers/compactors.
Experience with this equipment is a plus but not required.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or three to five related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
We prefer some sort of technical school experience in diagnostic testing and or experience in the field work.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read and understand parts manuals and order parts for repairs.
Must be able to handle the necessary paperwork involved in vehicle repairs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
