About the role:
Mainframe Application Developer is responsible and accountable for the coding and quality of Global Purchasing applications that makes purchasing decisions for buyers of Direct material towards GM's Products.
Senior Web Application Developers will work independently and under the direction of senior IT architects and management while contributing to multi:
layered solution architectures that comprehend and specify business, application, data and infrastructure designs.
Responsibilities:
Working with business analysts, business and developers to understand requirements, build, test and deploy products Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions Working along the Operations team to support the existing applications and follow process for change management Working with the Web developers to build the Client interface with focus on usability features; capacity planning and minimal rework Work with GM Project Management team and adhere to the GM System Lifecycle development methodologies and standards Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in the mobile technologies Explain technologies and solutions to technical and non:

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or related experience :
At least 5
years developing in a Mainframe environment :
Strong CICS, DB2, COBOL development Background :
Working Knowledge /development experience in C is a must :
Demonstrated expert knowledge in building, debugging and maintaining mission critical enterprise applications.

A track record of delivering successful consumer and/or business products Preferred
